As Tesla announced its second-quarter results, the company announced it would be giving $100,000 to each of its employees who worked in China during the fourth quarter.
The company’s $100k pledge is a big win for Tesla, which saw its revenues drop 10% in the fourth period of 2016.
However, the amount is a little lower than the $3.2m pledge Tesla made to its employees in 2020.
This comes after Tesla agreed to give back $1.8m of incentives given to employees of its China manufacturing plant.
Tesla also announced a $250,000 contribution to the National Day of People’s Freedom.
The National Day is a holiday celebrated in China to commemorate the founding of the country’s first communist party.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the company is now committed to a $1bn fund to help support its employees and the company’s development.
