CARLTON v Hawthorn GWS GIANTS GIANTRY v Western Bulldogs GWS ruckman Aaron Black has been fined $5000 for his late hit on Carlton defender Ben Kennedy.

Black made contact with Kennedy’s shin on the ground and it appeared to be an unsportsmanlike conduct charge, but the AFL has suspended him for two matches.

Kennedy was stretchered off the ground but the incident will not impact Carlton’s season.

Black has missed five matches this season with a knee injury.

Gold Coast ruck Matthew Boyd and Essendon ruck Sam Docherty were also fined $3000 for their late actions on Hawthorn’s Luke Breust.

Breust had to be carried from the ground by his teammates as his knee was dislocated.

Essendon captain Daniel Wells was also fined for a rough conduct charge.
